The Second in-person meeting of the WHO Science Council

29 – 30 June 2023

The WHO Science Council will convene for their second in-person meeting at WHO Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, on 29-30 June 2023.

The Council, chaired by Prof Harold Varmus will meet to discuss the progress on implementing the recommendations of their first report on genomics, and identify next priority issues for the Council’s work.

The Council members will also have meetings with the Director-General, the Assistant Director-Generals and representatives of the WHO Special Research Programmes. The opening session of the meeting will feature remarks from Dr Tedros, WHO Director-General, Dr Jeremy Farrar, Chief Scientist and Prof Harold Varmus, Chair of the Science Council.
